The initial reports from Milan suggest potentially serious injuries for Ismael Bennacer and Matteo Gabbia.

Both players hobbled off during this evening’s 2-2 Serie A draw with Parma at San Siro.

Gabbia lasted just five minutes before he went down in agony following an Andreas Cornelius tackle from behind.

A statement from the Rossoneri confirms the defender has a suspected sprain of his left knee and requires more tests over the next few days.

It’s a particular problem, as Milan are already missing Simon Kjaer in defence.

There are even worse concerns for Bennacer, who pulled up clutching the back of his thigh.

The Algeria international had only just returned from a muscular issue and Sky Sport Italia report it’s feared he has a hamstring strain.

That would require several weeks on the touchline.
