Napoli Coach Rafa Benitez has spoken of his happiness after acquiring ‘two quality players’ in Manolo Gabbiadini and Ivan Strinic.
The Partenopei confirmed the arrival of the two players today, with Gabbiadini joining for €13m from Sampdoria and Strinic arriving on a free transfer.
“We always pay attention to the transfer market,” Benitez told journalists in his Press conference ahead of tomorrow evening’s trip to Cesena.

“We always pay attention to the transfer market,” Benitez told journalists in his Press conference ahead of tomorrow evening’s trip to Cesena.
“Now we’re focused more clearly on it because the window is open.
“They are two quality players, they’ll bring balance to the team. Strinic can play deep or further forward on the left.
“He has quality and he’s ok from a physical point of view, he can definitely play some part, but I don’t know how much at the moment. However, he’s at an acceptable level.
“Gabbiadini is Italian, and that’s important for the future, and is a step forward.
“I will speak with him to understand what his best position is, but he can play four roles.
“I haven’t talked to him yet, because he can’t play at the moment [due to suspension], but we’ll see what he likes, what we need and then we’ll decide.”
Napoli are emerging from a Supercoppa win over Juventus in Doha, and Benitez hopes his side can carry the momentum from that into their Serie A campaign.
“We want to take advantage of the momentum we generated in the Supercoppa.
“In Doha the team played with intensity and passion. If we do that we can beat anyone.
“At Cesena we’ll have different motivations, but it has to be the first game in which we prove that we can play at 100 per cent all the time.
“We need consistency and against Cesena we can play well and win. The team has worked well, tests tell us that the team is doing better from a physical point of view than last year, but we also have to be on top for in a technical and mental sense.
“We are however, highly fired up and we have all the fans on our side.”
