Rafael Benitez says his Napoli future is ‘not decided’ in a tetchy Press conference ahead of the Europa League Last 16.

In an interview published in France Football yesterday, the Spanish tactician hinted that he could join Paris Saint-Germain when the season ends.

Today, in his Press conference ahead of the Europa League clash with Dynamo Moscow, Benitez was in no mood to discuss those rumours.

“I said in January that I’ll talk [about my future] in April,” Benitez told the assembled journalists.

“This interview from January repeats the same things. My future is not decided.

“I’ll tell you now, I have had no offers, and I don’t have any particular interests except the game tomorrow.”

The former Liverpool manager also responded to criticism which saw President Aurelio De Laurentiis ban anyone from the Partenopei speaking to Sky.

“I’m a professional, and I’ll do an interview if I have to do it, there’s no problem. I always say that we can go further if we’re united, shoulder-to-shoulder.

“Today I read about a defensive change that I made [against Inter, bringing Giandomenico Mesto on for Jose Callejon], but Milan lost a goal after subbing [Gianpaolo] Pazzini for [Salvatore] Bocchetti and no-one said anything.

“Then they talk about a physical decline, I have the physical data, and statistically Napoli did more than Inter.

“Although we had played Lazio, Inter only spent 19 per cent of the game in our third, [Mariano] Andujar didn’t have to do anything.

“I want to drive this team forward, one that is [joint] third in the League, in the Europa League and in the Coppa Italia semi-final.

“I’d be worried if I was Coach of another team, seeing a Napoli that has played 40 games and is still putting in these kinds of performances.

“And if someone asks me, I’d prefer to have seven shots on target, rather than just two in the last minute.

"I'm happy with how we're doing on three fronts. We're still playing with great intensity, and many have said that against Inter, Napoli gave one of our best performances.

“Every day I meet fans who tell me they’ve never seen a Napoli like this, and ask me to stay.

“I ask for everyone to stand shoulder-to-shoulder as we move into a period where we’re playing for everything on three fronts.”
