Hellas Verona have reportedly agreed terms for Benfica centre-forward Casper Tengstedt, who could have a medical over the next 24 hours.

Sky Sport Italia note it is expected to be a loan deal with option to buy at the end of the season, most likely tied to whether or not Verona manage to stay in Serie A.

Tengstedt reinforcement for Verona attack

The former Denmark Under-21 international celebrated his 24th birthday in June and made the move to Benfica from Rosenborg for €7m in January 2023.

Able to play in a variety of attacking roles, he scored four goals and provided seven assists in 31 competitive appearances for Benfica last season.

He was also in the Benfica side that drew 3-3 with Inter in the Champions League group phase in November 2023.

A muscular injury kept the Dane out of action for a couple of months between December 2023 and February 2024 and he struggled to regain his place in the squad after that.
