Reports suggest that Inter will miss out on Anatoliy Trubin as Benfica push to agree a deal for the Shakhtar Donetsk goalkeeper.

The Nerazzurri identified the 22-year-old Ukrainian as one of their primary targets to shore up the last line of their defence following the recent departures of Andre Onana and Samir Handanovic. Their first-choice option is Yann Sommer, who is expected to arrive in the coming days.

Inter want to sign Trubin this summer but have been left in a difficult spot as Shakhtar want at least €20m for the 22-year-old, despite the fact that his contract expires next year. Some reports have suggested that the Nerazzurri would wait a year to welcome him on a free transfer.

As reported by TMW, Benfica have emerged with concrete interest in Trubin and are now working to close out a deal with Shakhtar, making it likely that Inter will miss out on the Ukrainian goalkeeper.

Whilst no agreement has been reached yet, the Portuguese side are serious about the 22-year-old, and updates are expected in the coming days.
