Santos have received an opening bid for their starlet Kaio Jorge and according to reports in Italy, it’s not coming from Milan or Juventus, but from Benfica.

Kaio Jorge, 19, sees his contract expire in December 2021, so Santos are open to selling him on the cheap this summer.

Santos’ President Andres Rueda has confirmed he has received an offer from a European club, but according to Calciomercato.com, the bid is coming from Benfica and neither from Milan nor Juventus.

Santos have made a counter-offer and have reportedly identified the 22-year-old striker Cristian Arango as a potential replacement for their departing starlet.

Arango is on loan at Millonarios from Benfica, and that could facilitate a deal between the Portuguese and the Brazilian club.

According to Calciomercato.com, Milan have changed their strategy, lowering their offer to sign the promising Brazilian striker.

They were reported to have offered €6m to secure the player’s services, but now they do not want to spend more than €2-3m to sign the Brazilian striker, given that his contract expires in five months.
