Le Streghe won the Serie B title this evening with a record 24-point lead at the top of the table and seven rounds to go, having lost only one game out of 31.
They will mark the occasion by signing 33-year-old striker Remy, who flew in today and will have his Benevento medical tomorrow morning.
He is a free agent after his contract with Lille ran down.
According to Sky Sport Italia transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio, that’s not the only impressive new signing that Pippo Inzaghi’s team will make.
They are also in advanced negotiations with former Torino, Palermo and Bari defender Glik, who is currently playing for AS Monaco.
The 32-year-old Poland international centre-back is under contract until June 2021, but there is going to be a big clear-out in Monaco this summer.
Another candidate for Benevento is Schurrle, the 29-year-old Germany international owned by Borussia Dortmund and currently on loan at Spartak Moscow.
