The 27-year-old scored 12 times in 26 League games in 2019-20 and Benevento must brace themselves for a complicated operation.

Cornelius moved to Serie A from FC Copenhagen in July 2017, but La Dea have since loaned him out to Girondins de Bordeaux in Ligue 1 and rivals Parma in Serie A.

The report claims Benevento, who have already approached Parma about Gervinho, are now preparing to open talks for Cornelius and study the possibilities of a transfer this summer.
