Medhi Benatia has revealed that he could return to Roma one day but questioned Juventus boss Max Allegri. “Maybe he had problems with me…”

Benatia left Juve for Qatari side Al-Duhail in January, having fallen down the pecking order after Leonardo Bonucci’s return, and he suggested Allegri’s man-management left much to be desired.

“Allegri is a very good Coach if you talk about his career,” the defender told Gazzetta dello Sport.

“I never had any problems with him, although maybe he did with me. Maybe he could’ve talked to my face more.”

Benatia was branded ‘a poisonous liar’ by Roma President James Pallotta after his transfer to Bayern Munich in 2014, but the 31-year-old admits the Giallorossi will always be ‘special’ to him.

“Rudi Garcia gave me confidence, sometimes I used to act as an interpreter for him,” he explained.

“He made me captain after the two monsters Francesco Totti and Daniele De Rossi.

“These are things that I don’t forget, like the Olimpico. When you enter that stadium, with those fans, you want to take on the world.

“Those fans deserve to win more. And I understand them. True romaniste want to win.”

So could a second spell at the Olimpico be on the cards?

“Maybe… Roma will always be special to me,” he concluded.
