Medhi Benatia has hit out at Max Allegri for ‘taking me for a ride’ at Juventus and warned Pep Guardiola ‘did not impress me’ with his man-management.
Benatia left Juve for Qatari side Al-Duhail in January 2019, having fallen out of favour under Allegri, and he accused the ex-Milan boss of making him ‘broken promises’.
“He’s a great coach and good person. I had no problems with him or anyone else. He simply made me broken promises,” the defender told Goal.com.

“During a preseason tour in the US, he told me that the starters would be Chiellini and I, with Bonucci who would have to earn his place.
“I’d just scored twice in the Coppa Italia Final and we were talking about my renewal. Then I found myself on the bench four times without ever playing.
“I felt as if I’d been taken for a ride and said that I’d never play Juve again while he was there.”
However, he made it clear he bore no grudges with the club and especially Cristiano Ronaldo.
“My relationship with the club is excellent. I still hear from them now.
“Ronaldo is the absolute No 1, as a player and as a person. His brain is quicker than everyone else’s, even off the pitch.
“I’m happy to be his friend and I wish him all the best.”
The 33-year-old played under Guardiola at Bayern Munich, but he advised his former club to stick with Maurizio Sarri.
“He is tactically the best coach in the world, I don't see one beer than him.
“But I did not like him very much in [terms of] the relationship with the players, from this point of view he did not impress me.
“He could certainly be the right profile for Juve, but, in my opinion, Sarri has an excellent idea of football.
“This year, perhaps, has been a bit more complicated for Juve, but change always requires patience. And we must not forget that we are talking about a team still in the running to win everything.
“So, the work overseen so far has been good. And I don't think it's fair to talk about other coaches right now, the Bianconeri have a good one.”
