Torino director of sport Davide Vagnati admits Andrea Belotti’s situation is in doubt with a contract running down, but the striker ‘will think more than once’ before leaving.

The 28-year-old is currently out of action with a serious injury after tearing a femoral bicep.

His contract with the Granata is due to expire on June 30 and negotiations for a renewal appear to have been abandoned.

Toro made their final proposal and there has so far been no firm response from Belotti’s camp.

“One must always have hope,” said Vagnati at today’s press conference, where he was presenting the new January signings.

“Belotti wrote history with this club, so he too will think more than once before making different choices.”

The centre-forward has been linked with MLS club Toronto FC, who have already signed Napoli captain Lorenzo Insigne as a free agent for the summer.

Il Gallo has never disguised the fact he grew up supporting Milan, so the Rossoneri would also be an option for a free transfer.

  1. At 28 why would he even think once before leaving ? If he’s ever gonna play for a big club or close to win any major trophy in his career this is his last chance, so I don’t see any reason for him to even think about thinking
