Andrea Belotti has turned down offers from Al-Hilal and Newcastle United as he waits for Milan to make a move for him.

The 28-year-old Italian striker’s contract expires with Torino at the end of this season and many clubs are interested in acquiring the player on a free transfer in the summer. He has recently turned down expensive offers from Al-Hilal and Newcastle United, with both clubs discussing contracts worth around €7-8m net per season.

As reported by Calciomercato.com, Belotti wants to join Milan above any other club and he’s waiting for the Rossoneri to make a concrete move for him. He’ll be able to sign a pre-contract with them from next week onwards, so things could progress over the coming months.

Milan must first decide what to do with Zlatan Ibrahimovic, however. The 40-year-old Swedish forward’s contract expires with the Rossoneri at the end of this season and a meeting with Paolo Maldini is scheduled for March.

  1. I don’t see why interest in Bellotti is a matyer of deciding what to do with Zlatan.

Make Zlatan a coach or let him leave. It’s Zlatan, but he is now only Zlatan in 10 or so ganes per season. Next year he’ll be a year older. What does he cost per minute, at this point?

Bellotti on a free is a good deal and Milan should jump on it, even at 28.

  2. For a club like Milan who can’t or are unwilling to spend big money, Belotti on a free is as good as it gets. Good strikers under 30 aren’t cheap. Need 30m plus for them. We will sign him and will have to hope for the best.

Milan need to spend in other areas as well. Defense, midfield (Kessie replacement), attacking midfield and right winger if Messias leaves.

  3. If he is waiting for Milan to call and offer 7-8 million a season, he will be waiting a long time. We wouldn’t even pay that to good players.

As much as I like Belotti, he’s past his best and doesn’t suit how Pioli wants to play. I would like a forward who is not just a target man but not this guy.
