Andrea Belotti celebrated his 100th Serie A goal and a 3-0 win over Sampdoria, assuring he will remain at Torino this season before ‘important decisions’ are made on his contract.

Serie A | Torino 3-0 Sampdoria: Dominant Granata

The striker is still struggling with an ankle injury, so only came off the bench during this evening’s victory at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino.

He found the net with the last kick of the game, after Dennis Praet and Wilfried Singo had already made it a dominant performance.

This was Belotti’s 100th Serie A goal, and it could’ve come earlier in the match, but he was denied by the woodwork.

“It’s an honour for me to join those great champions by reaching 100 goals, I score just to bring points to the team,” Il Gallo told DAZN and Sky Sport Italia.

“We didn’t prepare any special celebration shirt, because we were waiting for the opportune moment. I try to give my all in every game, that’s what you have to do in this sport.

“I also feel the need to make up for the last two seasons, which have been below expectations. We want a great campaign for our fans.”

Belotti’s contract with Torino is due to expire at the end of the current campaign, so the club could try to sell him in January to avoid losing him as a free agent.

However, the forward insists the future is still all to be written.

“This is my seventh year at Torino, I am at an age that represents a crossroads in the career of a striker. Over the next few months, some important decisions will be made.

“I told (coach Ivan) Juric from the start that I wanted to remain this season, so that is not an issue.”
