Andrea Belotti has reportedly decided not to sign a new Torino contract, so Monza are the favourites, as Fiorentina look to Salernitana striker Milan Djuric instead.

Il Gallo will be a free agent when his current deal expires on June 30 and has so far kept everyone waiting before he makes his decision.

According to Sport Mediaset, Belotti phoned up his old teammates over the last few days to tell them he was not returning for pre-season training.

The 28-year-old had been linked with Milan, the side he supports, but they do not seem interested in bringing him in even for free.

Monza are now the favourites, having just secured their first ever promotion into Serie A under the guidance of former Milan chiefs Silvio Berlusconi and Adriano Galliani.

Fiorentina had also been contenders, but Sportitalia transfer expert Alfredo Pedullà claims they have now made a firm offer for Salernitana centre-forward Djuric.

Very strong in the air, the 32-year-old Bosnia and Herzegovina international scored five goals and provided five assists in 33 Serie A appearances this season.

He too is a free agent, as his contract expires on June 30.

  1. @Donato Totaro.

If you were to ignore last season due to lower number of games placed (still scored 8 in 22), Belotti scored 44 goals during the previous 3 seasons. Not quite a goal every two games, but a really commendable ratio especially when you take into account Torino rarely ever having two consistent seasons. They’ve been poor for pretty much the entire time he has been there. If he gets games regularly and is injury free, Belotti will score goals.

  2. Belotti is downhill and the fact only Monza are interested in him, says it all. Not even for free…. such a waste
