Torino forward has returned to train with the rest of the group and should be back in contention for the match against Napoli.

The Granata captain has been injured since the second match in Serie A 2021-22, but the club confirms he is back in training with the rest of his teammates.

The 27-year-old striker’s return to training is a boost for coach Ivan Juric, who should have the Italy international at his disposal for the next match against League leaders Napoli at the Stadio Diego Maradona on October 17.

Cairo: ‘Belotti doesn’t want to sign for Torino’

“The Granata had a morning session at Filadelfia,” the club said in a statement. “Juric directed the technical session, with a joint training with the Primavera.

“Belotti carried out the programme with the team; [Ben Lhassine] Kone finished training prematurely and will be evaluated with instrumental tests.

“[Tommaso] Pobega and [Dennis] Praet underwent customised training on the pitch, and therapies for [Marko] Pjaca and [Simone] Verdi.”

Belotti scored in the first game against Atalanta – which ended in a 2-1 loss at the Grande Torino – but has struggled with a tendon injury since the following 2-1 defeat to Fiorentina in Florence.

Torino have since bounced back from the difficult start, with eight points in the next five games, before losing to Juventus in the Derby della Mole last time.
