Roberto Mancini won seven games and lost one against Roberto Martinez, but the Italian coach was sacked after that defeat in 2013.

Mancini has almost a perfect record against his Belgium counterpart, having won seven of the previous meetings against the 47-year-old.

That only defeat against Martinez cost Mancini the job back in 2013, when his Manchester City side lost the FA Cup Final against Martinez’s WBA.

The Citizens sacked the Italian tactician two days after that loss, despite two games left to be played in the Premier League.

However, City had already decided to sack Mancini and bring in Manuel Pellegrini from Malaga.

The morning before that FA Cup Final, the Daily Telegraph broke the news that the Spanish tactician would have replaced Il Mancio at the end of the season.

In 2012, Mancini brought the Premier League title back to the Etihad Stadium for the first time in 44 years.

He also won one FA Cup and one Charity Shield in his three years and a half spell in Manchester.
