Just as it seemed to be a done deal for Tottenham Hotspur, now Bayern Munich have reportedly offered an even higher bid to Genoa for defender Radu Dragusin.

According to transfer news pundits Fabrizio Romano and Matteo Moretti, the centre-back is sparking a real bidding war between the European clubs.

Tottenham thought they had done enough to push past contenders Napoli with €25m in cash plus bonuses and the inclusion of defender Djed Spence on loan for the rest of the season.

However, Bayern Munich have seemingly now stepped up their bid to meet the €30m asking price in cash alone, without including any player exchanges.

Genoa would be fairly content with either option and are now ready to leave the decision up to Dragusin.

While Tottenham seem convinced they have done enough, Sportitalia claim Dragusin hesitated in order to give Bayern Munich time to formulate their offer, as he would favour the German option.

The Romania international turns 22 next month and joined the Juventus youth academy in 2018, working his way up with loan spells at Sampdoria, Salernitana and Genoa before joining the Grifone permanently for €5.5m plus bonuses in 2023.

It is reported Juventus retained a 20 per cent cut of any future transfer fee, so are very glad to see this bidding war develop.
