Bayern Munich have reportedly started talks with Juventus for Matthijs de Ligt and the player is keen on the move to the Bundesliga giants.

The Bianconeri have been in talks with Chelsea regarding the 22-year-old Dutch centre back for a number of weeks now, making it clear that a deal wouldn’t come cheap. The funds generated by the sale of De Ligt would be immediately reinvested into the squad, so a decisive offer is needed.

As reported by Sky Sports Germany, Bayern have been in contact with Juventus to discuss a move for De Ligt and things have started positively. The Dutch defender has already spoken with Julian Nagelsmann and sporting director Hasan Salihamidžić and he was left feeling very impressed.

As was made clear with Chelsea, De Ligt won’t come cheap; reports suggest that the 22-year-old would cost around €60-80m, but the release clause in his contract is over €100m, so Juventus could play tough in negotiations.

  1. Credit to the Dutch Phil Jones. Still being linked to the cream of Europe despite being vastly overrated in all aspects. At least he will be free of PhD Max and at a bigger club, he could rediscover his Ajax form.

  2. @jimmy – davies is worth 60m himself, that wont happen, maybe 70m euros plus gnarby as he has 1 yr left on his contract.

Tolisso contract expired – we should sign him for free

  3. LORD ALLEGRI PATRON SAINT OF SLOW BALL you must be a hoot at parties. zzzzzz. De ligt being wanted by top sides shows he’s clearly a talent, but you know better right… nerd

  4. Hoot at parties zzzzz. I will wake you up @LORD roaster impersonating @LORD ALLEGRI. Come here boy lets play play and then you can spread mushy peas and chip shop curry sauce on my knacker cracker. Oi oi get the saveloy, 13 inches of pure Britishness. Lets have it.

  5. Ha ha! Some hilarious insults! Seriously, Dr Ligt is a very good player, he does make mistakes but he is no Phil Jones.

  6. Bayern never pay more than $70M for a player so this deal will need to involve a player as well as Juve won’t sell for anywhere near $60-70M when the buy out is $120M.

  7. My concern is that even if Juve management gets €100M for him… I have so little confidence that they can spend it wisely to help us get a new CB, LB, and another position filled. Sigh.

  8. Rumours have it in Germany that De Ligt has agreed personal contract with Bayern Munich, now lets see how much Juve will sell him – I dont think bayern will budge from 85meuros

  9. So… the idiots bought him for 85M and now they will sell him for 60M at the age of 22. Typical Juventus business. Can’t watch what this band of incompetent morons is doing with this club, it’s horrible. Every move since Ronaldo is a dissaster. I really hope Elkann will soon loose patience with them , get rid of them all and then hire someone like Marotta again.

  10. @Juve11: wanna bet? Juventus are desperate for income as they still have rejects in their ranks that nobody wants to pay for (Arthur, Rabiot, Ramsey, etc)
