While Inter and Juventus seem to be battling it out for his signature, Bild report Atalanta defender Giorgio Scalvini is on Bayern Munich’s list too.
The centre-back is widely expected to leave Atalanta over the next year or two, having become a regular as a teenager.
His current contract runs to June 2027 and he is a product of the prestigious and prolific Atalanta youth academy.
Scalvini will turn 20 next week and already has seven senior caps for Italy under his belt.
Inter and Juve are considered the favourites for his next step, but German newspaper Bild suggests that Bayern Munich are ready to pounce.
They had already looked at Scalvini last summer before instead turning towards a different Serie A defender, paying Napoli €50m for Kim Min-Jae.
It is well known that Bayern Munich keep a close eye on Serie A, having already signed Matthijs de Ligt from Juventus.
The asking price for Scalvini is going to be a minimum of €40m and that is rising all the time with his performances in Italy and the Europa League.
Alessandro Buongiorno Is cheaper and better.
Alessandro Buongiorno Is a great defender but he is 24 and Scalvini is 19. There is alot of upside. I agree for euros it should be Alessandro Buongiorno and Bastoni in the centre of the defence
