Bayern Munich are seeking a goalkeeper, with reports they have made approaches for both Milan shot-stopper Mike Maignan and Wojciech Szczesny of Juventus.

The Germans need a replacement for Yann Sommer after selling him to Inter for €6m and with Manuel Neuer still out injured for several more months.

Several different sources this evening come together to paint a picture of the situation and that crosses over with the Italian transfer market.

Sportitalia claims that Al-Hilal are preparing a huge offer for Sevilla goalkeeper Yassine Bounou, who had been a firm favourite for the Bayern role.

At the same time, Portuguese transfer specialist Pedro Almeida maintains Bayern Munich are preparing a bid for Milan star Maignan.

However, he is not for sale and certainly not for a loan with option to buy.

This knocks the Bundesliga outfit down to the next target, which is easier to secure, specifically Szczesny at Juventus.

His replacement is already in position, Mattia Perin, along with suggestions Juve could then go for Paris Saint-Germain and Italy man Gianluigi Donnarumma.

Another alternative for Bayern Munich is Diogo Costa of FC Porto.
