Director Oliver Kahn confirms they ‘had talks and Matthijs de Ligt wants to come to Bayern Munich,’ so negotiations continue with Juventus.

The visit of Hasan Salihamidzic to Turin was no secret, meeting with both the player’s representative Rafaela Pimenta and the Bianconeri directors.

“We had talks and the player wants to come to FC Bayern,” Kahn told Blickpunkt Sport today after the presentation of the squad to the fans.

“We’ll have more discussions and then see how it goes.”

Juventus are asking for at least €90m in order to let the Dutch international leave Turin, as he is still under contract for another two years and has a €120m release clause in his contract.

However, so far the Bundesliga giants have proposed at best €60m including bonuses and that is a very big gap to bridge.

There could be more developments now that Bayern Munich have announced the deal to sell Robert Lewandowski to Barcelona, freeing up some transfer funds.

De Ligt seemed to make his choice clear, which is why Chelsea instead signed Kalidou Koulibaly from Napoli at a cost of €40m including add-ons.

Manchester City remain potentially interested in the centre-back.

Agree, seems playing for Bayern is easy street for him and probably speaks volumes about his commitment/desire. He’s hardly shined in Serie A so not really a loss to the league…Koulibaly on the other hand is gutting.

  3. Really? Common guys are you living in alternate universe in terms of why he wants to go? He’s already won Serie A, going to Bayern he could win new trophies, the Bundesliga and the CL, which probably Bayern still has better odds of winning than Juve as long as Allegri is running the show there. He’s not going to some low level sh1t team, it’s a step up for his career.

  4. I support Juve but can not agree that moving to Bayern is a bad move, they are a huge European club. Potential Champion League winners and the Bundesliga is of a very high standard. I wish him well but not against the mighty Juve.

Potential champions league winners… They got knocked out by Villarreal and now they’ve lost their source of goals in Lewandowski.

  6. Juventus should worry more about filling not just one void but two. Big players do not want to go there. Rudiger and Koulibaly are recent cases. Instead they should be realistic. They do not have premier league money, appeal and age criteria is at the behest of PhD Max. He sent Cambiaso back quicker then a prime delivery. Instead Juve should focus on unproven names and talents across the globe. From the MLS to the Chinese League those players are cheaper for them and they shall listen to the “Feng Shui” slow ball.

    ‘THAN* a prime delivery’.

You should’ve paid more attention in school, pirlone.

  8. Rosario are you aware of the difference between a “Dinghy” and the word “Dingy” ?

Is that you you never take on @Milan Fan?

  9. It’s not rocket science why DeLigt wants to leave Juve. First of all Juve aren’t likely able to extend his contract with substantial salary raise. He’s already won all the domestic trophies in Italy while UCL is unrealistic for Juve ir any other italian teams. Besides he’s not exactly been improving, better go for new challenge in Bayern Munich, one of few clubs who are able to compete with EPL financially.
