Italian reports suggest Bayern Munich have approached Antonio Conte to take over next season, but he is waiting for a Serie A club like Juventus or Milan.

The coach has been out of work for a year now, having left Tottenham Hotspur in March 2023 by terminating the contract by mutual consent.

According to La Repubblica newspaper, Conte is top of the list of contenders for Bayern Munich when Thomas Tuchel is dismissed at the end of the season.

However, the same report also notes that Conte already turned Bayern Munich down once before and is now more convinced than ever that he wants a club in Italy so that he can be closer to his family.

Having already rebuffed Napoli, and with Roma doing so well under Daniele De Rossi, the only real options remaining would be Milan and a return to Juventus.

With that in mind, Rudy Galetti of Sportitalia also suggests that Conte is actively working on a return to Juventus, seeing as the rapport between Max Allegri and the club is deteriorating.

The other main contender for the role is Bologna boss Thiago Motta.

Conte was a player at Juventus, then a coach from 2011 to 2014, where he won three consecutive Serie A titles.
