Bayern Munich are warning Inter they must pay the full €6m release clause for Yann Sommer, while Atalanta outcast Juan Musso emerges as another candidate for the gloves.

The Nerazzurri have still not managed to find a new goalkeeper after selling Andre Onana to Manchester United, then releasing Samir Handanovic and Alex Cordaz from their contracts.

During pre-season, the role is being taken by the son of club legend Dejan Stankovic.

Sommer is their first choice, but Inter are trying to negotiate a better deal for the Switzerland international, offering €4m plus bonuses, to be spread out over several instalments.

Bayern Munich are getting tired of the approach and warned they will not budge from the €6m release clause in his contract, even starting the veteran in today’s friendly against Liverpool.

With Manuel Neuer injured for the start of the season, the Bundesliga giants have no reason to part with their goalkeeper for less than his value.

Inter are also short on funds after reinforcing the midfield, defence and attack, so Sportmediaset claim they are in talks with Atalanta to sign Musso on loan with an option to buy.

The 29-year-old has two senior caps for Argentina and joined Atalanta from Udinese in 2021 for €20.5m, but his rapport with coach Gian Piero Gasperini broke down and he was dropped to the bench for the last few months of the season.

  1. What’s the problem?? Inter doesn’t have 6 million?? That’s nothing for a keeper like Sommer.
