However, it has been reported that the German champions’ Italian intermediary Giovanni Branchini first approached Ancelotti a month ago.
The 56-year-old, who won two Champions League titles as Milan Coach between 2001 and 2009, is taking a sabbatical year off football since being sacked by Real Madrid in the summer.
Former Barcelona boss Guardiola has been linked with a switch to Manchester City, and Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos has tipped Ancelotti to be his ideal successor.
“Ancelotti would be perfect for the Bundesliga,” the former Bayern playmaker told Bild.
“He has international quality and speaks English.”
