Bayer Leverkusen director Simon Rolfes claims the Bundesliga side are not interested in signing Robin Gosens from Inter although the player’s agent had kept the door open for his client’s move to Germany.

Gosens’ move to Bayer Leverkusen seems off as the Bundesliga side’s director has denied they are going to make an offer for the Inter defender.

“There is no offer from Bayer and we don’t want to sign him,” he told Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger, as quoted by FCInternews.

It was an eventful morning for the Germany international whose agent Gianluca Mancini had kept a door open for his client’s move to the Bundesliga.

Gosens has ‘60% chances of joining Bayer and 40% chances of staying,’ he had told Radio Radio.

The Bundesliga side had reportedly approached the Nerazzurri to get the Germany international on loan.

The Serie A giants wanted to add an obligation to buy in the deal while Bayer were only interested in a loan move for the former Atalanta defender.

Gosens joined the Nerazzurri from Atalanta in January but spent the first few weeks at the club recovering from a severe groin injury.

The 28-year-old has collected 13 appearances with the Nerazzurri but only started one of the opening four Serie A games this term.

Inter boss Simone Inzaghi hopes the ex-Atalanta man doesn’t leave and insisted on Tuesday night that the Nerazzurri should sign a new centre-back to complete the team for 2022-23.

  1. Why are the comments not being published?

There were no offensive words in it. Process seems random, bother fixing it?
