Roma will reportedly try to sign Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi or Sampdoria’s Dawid Kownacki next month.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Roma President James Pallotta has already given the green light for Monchi to pursue the pair.

The newspaper goes one step further by stating it is ‘almost certain’ one of them will arrive if Patrik Schick returns to Samp.

Kownacki broke out for the Blucerchiati last season, the 21-year-old coincidentally replacing Schick, but he has not started in Serie A this term and scored just two goals.

Batshuayi has endured similar issues at Valencia since joining on loan from Chelsea, but he did net nine times for Borussia Dortmund in the second half of 2017-18.
