Alessandro Bastoni reveals he was thinking about the Champions League derby with Milan before the game with Benfica had even finished and is ready to shave his hair for a victory.

It kicks off at San Siro at 20.00 UK time (19.00 GMT).

“It is really special to hear that Inter are in the Champions League semi-final again after 13 years,” Bastoni told Amazon Prime Italia.

When the Nerazzurri secured their spot in the semi-final and knew it was going to be against Milan, how long did it take before he started thinking about that?

“I was thinking about the derby 10 minutes before the final whistle, when we went 3-1 up against Benfica.”

This perhaps would explain why Inter ended up fumbling two goals in the final minutes for a 3-3 draw, although it was still enough to qualify on aggregate.

“Perhaps the greatest moment of my football career was when the lights went up around the stadium after the goal against Benfica. It was a magical moment I will never forget.”

Bastoni was played some audio of the match between Milan and Inter in the 2003 Champions League semi-final, when the Rossoneri went through on away goals.

“It was two draws, so if it was to be played now, we would go to extra time. I was barely born when that game happened, so this is a very different time.”

What would Bastoni be prepared to do if Inter won the Champions League?

“I am very fond of my hair being quite long, so I would be willing to shave it all off.”
