Alessandro Bastoni named Rafael Leao as the hardest Milan player he’ll have to mark during Saturday’s derby and claims he will never join the Rossoneri: ‘There isn’t even the 0,1% chance.’

The Italy international released an interview with DAZN ahead of the Derby della Madonnina which is scheduled for Saturday at 17.00 UK time.

Bastoni has been an Inter fan since he was a child and has recently committed his future to the Nerazzurri, signing a contract extension until 2024.

“I used to watch the derbies on TV with my father, who is also an Inter fan,” the defender told DAZN.

“There have never been disputes at home, one of my brothers supports Roma, while the other one hates football and has never come to see me play at San Siro.

“I live every game very peacefully. The derby makes no difference. I remember the whistles for Hakan Calhanoglu in the first leg clash. So loud. He took an important penalty kick. Hopefully, the same will happen next weekend.”

Inter and Milan picked up a 1-1 draw in November, but the upcoming meeting will likely be crucial in the race for the title as the Nerazzurri are enjoying a four-point lead over their city rivals with a game in hand.

“Anything can happen in these games,” said Bastoni.

“It’s very early in the season. One year ago today, we were not the table leaders, but we won the title anyway. What’s really important is to avoid defeat.”

Who are the Milan players he fears the most?

“Theo is the fastest one, while Leao is the most difficult player I’ll have to mark.”

Would we ever see him play with the Rossoneri?

“No, never,” Bastoni replied.

“There isn’t even a 0,1% chance to see me take that path.”

  1. This is funny. He’s mentioning the Milan players who play the furthest away from him. How is he going to mark Leao when he’s on the other side of the pitch?!

  2. Maybe we’ll cry if we lose title at the end but not if we lose derby. There are many weeks to play.

  3. Boy you’re speaking to hakan Sure not Milan fans cos we don’t need you that god you have spoken the that you’re afraid of our boy Leon
