Alessandro Bastoni mostly trained with his Inter teammates today as his recovery continues but the wait is a little longer for Benjamin Pavard.

Bastoni came down with a calf injury whilst training with the Italy national team at Coverciano last month, forcing him to miss the last three games against Juventus, Napoli and Benfica, as well as the Euro 2024 qualifiers against North Macedonia and Ukraine.

Pavard’s injury is a little more serious; the Frenchman suffered a patellar tendon dislocation in the 33rd minute of Inter’s 2-1 win away to Atalanta on November 4, an injury that’s kept him out of the last five matches.

As reported by TMW, Bastoni completed the majority of today’s squad training session at Appiano Gentile and is now set to join the Inter squad for the coming match with Udinese. He’ll likely start on the bench but could receive some minutes in the second half.

Pavard is still in the thick of his recovery. His condition is improving but it’ll take a little while longer for him to return, so the club are aiming to bring him back into the fold before the end of the month.

Both players have impressed in Simone Inzaghi’s three-man defence, and their returns will give the team a boost in a crucial period of the season.
