Inter centre-back Alessandro Bastoni leaves the Italy camp today and will not be available against Northern Ireland on Monday.

Giorgio Chiellini and Ciro Immobile had to pull out ahead of Switzerland and the Nerazzurri defender was hoping to play a part with the Azzurri.

Italy CT Roberto Mancini decided to call up the Inter youngster, despite his poor physical condition after the Milan derby in Serie A.

Francesco Acerbi and Leonardo Bonucci started the 1-1 draw with Switzerland on Friday and Bastoni was not available to take part.

Sassuolo defender Gian Marco Ferrari has been called up to replace Bastoni in the squad and will join the rest of the group in training today.

Inter will assess the youngster’s conditions in the coming days, but he will not be available for the important game against Northern Ireland.

The 22-year-old, capped nine times by the Azzurri, has played 11 Serie A games with Inter this term and, but didn’t manage to complete the 1-1 draw with Milan ahead of the international break and is still struggling with muscle fatigue.
