Inter defender Alessandro Bastoni claimed that the Nerazzurri’s locker room is ‘super united’ despite the voices coming from the outside trying to ‘destabilise’ them.
Speaking after Inter’s 4-0 home win over Red Star in the Champions League, Bastoni probably referred to the investigation that recently prompted the arrests of several Inter and Milan ultras, leading many to wonder about the potential consequences for the clubs, who are not investigated until now.
However, scenes on the pitch like Lautaro Martinez’s decision to let his teammate Medhi Taremi take a penalty in his place and help him score his first competitive goal with Inter suggest how tight-knit is their group.

“It [Lautaro letting Taremi take the penalty] says a lot about the group we are, there are a lot of voices coming from the outside trying to destabilise us,” Bastoni told reporters in the mixed zone, as quoted by FcInternews.
“But it doesn’t happen, our locker room is super united and you get to see it every game, we’re calm under this point of view.
“We were sure about Taremi and Arnautovic’s displays, they have great quality and help us a lot even when they don’t play, in terms of team building. There’s a huge trust in our group.”

“Our desire to win is always the same, in every competition,” Bastoni added.
“Our mister [Inzaghi] is helping us by making rotations, it’s physiological to have moments of rest as we’re heading towards a growingly difficult football, with 70 matches per season. We must remain focused on all fronts.”
