Girondins de Bordeaux midfielder Toma Basic is expected to undergo his Lazio medical tomorrow after a deal worth €10m including various add-ons.
According to Sportitalia, the 24-year-old is set to have the tests in Rome on Wednesday.
Basic had agreed personal terms with Lazio some time ago, but their transfer strategy was held up by a lack of liquidity.
Selling Joaquin Correa has proved more difficult than previously thought, so President Claudio Lotito had to pump circa €10m into the club coffers to get things moving.
It’s reported the agreement with Bordeaux was reached for €7m plus up to €3m in performance-related bonuses.
He has two senior caps for Croatia under his belt and the Bordeaux contract only runs to June 2022.
Basic has already made three Ligue 1 appearances so far this season for his club, contributing one assist.
Bordeaux signed him from Hajduk Split in the summer of 2018 for €3.5m.
