Juventus defender Andrea Barzagli backs Gianluigi Buffon’s comments on a reported dressing room row after Napoli – “nothing happened”.
It was reported that the goalkeeper had an argument with Medhi Benatia over Kalidou Koulibaly’s late winner, something Buffon categorically denied.
“Nothing happened, there weren’t these arguments and fights people say there were,” Barzagli insisted, speaking to Sky.

“There was a lot of bitterness, because we knew how important the match was and we lost at home.
“I think in the end we needed a day to go over what happened, we had a day off and then on Tuesday we came back focused on what we have to do.
“I saw great spirit from everyone, great desire to hit an objective which is even more difficult but is still in our hands, because we still have a point over Napoli.
“Now what matters is preparing in the best way, playing a great match [against Inter] with heart and everything.
“It’s hard to say what we were really lacking, we were just missing everything.
“We’ve rarely seen such a subdued performance in our home. At the end of the day it may have been a bad performance and result, but now we have to put it behind us and we have done.
“There’s nothing left of it in our heads, now we have to be focused on a big game on Saturday.”
Some Juventus ultras turned up at training yesterday to tell the team to show more fight.
“I think the fans came to encourage us, they did a nice thing. We know the importance of this match but also the last four games.
“We’re focused on our objective, knowing that Saturday’s game is worth a lot. “I’ll tell you the truth and I’ll tell you what I saw: I went out and I saw very quiet tones, I did not hear – as I’ve heard people outside say – threats or protests.
“They came to give us their faith and they came to calmly support us, so it was a positive day regardless of what they say outside.”
