Juventus defender Andrea Barzagli admits his side must play better against Tottenham Hotspur than they did in their win at Lazio.

The Old Lady edged past the Biancocelesti yesterday after a late Paulo Dybala goal gave them a 1-0 victory and the advantage in the Serie A title race.

The Old Lady edged past the Biancocelesti yesterday after a late Paulo Dybala goal gave them a 1-0 victory and the advantage in the Serie A title race.

However, they now travel to London for the return leg of their Champions League last 16 tie, with their hopes in Europe’s premier club competition hanging in the balance.

“Whether we go through or out, we will have to play a different match,” Barzagli said as Juve look to make amends after letting a 2-0 first leg lead slip three weeks ago.

“It will be much more technical because the Champions League matches are more open.

“There is another way you have to play. There is much more quality, it is less tactical, but we need to go there to score.

“We definitely have to play better than we did here.”

Barzagli is delighted for teammate Dybala, who scored in injury time to give the Bianconeri a potentially priceless win at Lazio yesterday.

“He scored a great goal, we are happy for him.

“After a period of not playing due to injury, he is back and this goal can push him on for the end of the season.

“We are happy because he scored a very important goal, in the 92nd minute at Lazio. They really are three crucial points.”

The centre-back also paid tribute to his side’s beaten opponents.

“Lazio are a great team. They have shown it this year, last year, they have important players.

“Clearly they pushed for 45 minutes, then in the second half they tired because of the Coppa Italia match.”
