Andrea Barzagli is in doubt for the Champions League final, as Juventus confirm he’s suffering with a thigh injury.

The Bianconeri defender went off injured during the weekend win over Napoli, and has undergone an MRI scan this morning.

“The medical examination showed that the defender has suffered a first grade tear of the rectus femoris muscle in his right thigh,” the club announced on its official website.

“Barzagli will now begin treatment and both his condition and availability for June’s Champions League final are to be monitored on a day-to-day basis.”

The prognosis for a first grade quadricep strain of this type is usually between one and three weeks for a complete recovery.

With the Champions League final 12 days away on June 6, the Old Lady will be sweating over the fitness of the Italian internation.

Juve take on Barcelona in Berlin, seeking to win the competition for the first time in 19 years.
