Juventus defender Andrea Barzagli calls Milan captain Leonardo Bonucci a friend, but expects “everyone will go to battle” on Saturday night.

Bonucci left the Bianconeri in the summer to join the Diavolo, and he returns to Allianz Stadium for the first time this weekend.

“For me – and I think for all of us – it won’t change much,” Barzagli insisted, speaking to Sky.

“I think for Leo it will be a special game, because he’s returning to Allianz Stadium against his former team where he still has acquaintances and also friends.

“We really did share beautiful years together, I think it will be very emotional for him.

“Clearly seeing him in a different team will have a certain impression on us, but once we’ve greeted each other on the pitch everyone will go to battle.”

Barzagli was also asked about Paulo Dybala’s mindset, after La Joya was left out by Argentina for the recent friendlies.

“The first thing [Coach Jorge] Sampaoli said was quite critical, then he made it clear to Paulo that he was in his plans.

“Let’s say maybe he wanted to motivate him, but Paulo is calm and training well and that’s the best thing for him.

“I think he’ll give us so much on the pitch, and we absolutely need him for these final two months.”
