President Josep Maria Bartomeu reveals Barcelona are still ‘analysing’ a potential move for Inter forward Lautaro Martinez’ this summer.
The Blaugrana have been linked with the Argentine in recent months but when the release clause expired, the 22-year-old seemed set to stay at San Siro.
But the Barca patron has hinted that the negotiations with the Nerazzurri could resume later this summer.
“The next market will be particular. The big clubs will be limited by economical issues, but Barca are always a protagonist in the market, he told Spanish TV3.
“In the case of Lautaro, the negotiations are at a standstill right now, we spoke with Inter a few weeks ago. Now, we are in an analysis phase.”
Regarding the future of Lionel Messi at Camp Nou, the patron added: “We speak to Messi, we have talked and we will talk again.
“He’s the best footballer in the history of the game, he has many years left in football and he’s in great shape.
“I have no doubt that he will continue at Barca, his future is here, also after football.”
