Gian Piero Gasperini believes there are similarities between young forward Musa Barrow and his former Inter player Samuel Eto’o.

Barrow netted La Dea’s goal in today’s impressive 1-1 draw at Lazio, his third strike in 10 Serie A appearances this season.

He also has 26 goals from just 22 appearances for the club’s Primavera team.

“Yes, I hope so. They are important comparisons,” Gasperini said when asked if the 20-year-old reminded him of Cameroon legend Eto’o.

“He has the ability to take a first touch that puts him in the position to shoot and see the goal.

“At 20 years old, he needs to grow and get in a slightly better physical shape.”

Atalanta remain well placed to qualify for next season’s Europa League following today’s draw at the Stadio Olimpico, although Gasperini believes his side should have won.

“It was a great match by us. We played against a very strong Lazio who are in shape.

“However, we regret it because two more points would have given us more certainty of getting into the Europa League.

“The match with Milan will be decisive, we need to see what happens in the Coppa Italia.

“We have performed to the best of our abilities this season. So many matches can take energy out of you, but it’s also true that our experiences in Europe have taught us a lot of things.”
