Frosinone Coach Marco Baroni admits there is an air of gloom around the club, but that they can’t “give up” yet and go back down to Serie B with a whimper.
The Ciociari lost 2-0 to Napoli at the Stadio Benito Stirpe today and Baroni tried to lift some spirits when he spoke in the post-match Press conference.

The Ciociari lost 2-0 to Napoli at the Stadio Benito Stirpe today and Baroni tried to lift some spirits when he spoke in the post-match Press conference.
“The feeling was positive before the game. The team took a good approach despite the superior quality of Napoli. We created a lot of good opportunities, but unfortunately, we couldn’t take them.
“Our goal was to put in some attacking players to try and hurt them, especially in the second half. Their goal at the start of the second half took the wind out of our sails.
“Despite everything though, we remained compact and worked hard, but we lacked sharpness in front of goal. Even in Cagliari we created chances, but failed to score from them.
“Napoli gave us opportunities, we then left ourselves open to the counter, but that’s what happens when you play with extra attacking players.”
Baroni then spoke about his team’s increasingly likely relegation to Serie B, as they now sit 10 points behind 17th placed Udinese with four games left – while Le Zebrette also have a game in hand.
“To say the President is unhappy is an understatement. At this point, it's hard to keep the players’ heads up, but we’ll have to try, it’s part of my job.
“In this division unfortunately even when you are at your maximum level you have difficulty reacting and making up for your mistakes.
“We must always try to build, and we must also do it over these last four games of the championship. We are in Serie A and we must not give up.”
