Fiorentina general manager Joe Barone has confirmed that the club are sticking with Vincenzo Montella, despite their bad run of results.

Fiorentina lost 1-0 to Verona yesterday, and they haven’t won since the 2-1 victory over Sassuolo in late October.

Nonetheless, Barone made it clear the Viola were stticking with Montella at the helm.

“[Keeping] Vincenzo was a decision we made over the summer to keep stability and tranquility,” he told Calciomercato.com

“[Keeping] Vincenzo was a decision we made over the summer to keep stability and tranquility,” he told Calciomercato.com

“We will continue down this path, he clearly enjoys our confidence.”

Federico Chiesa has been the subject of intense speculation regarding his future, so is there any change to his situation?

“Federico [Chiesa] is a Fiorentina player, he is under contract with us,“ assured the Italo-American.

“He’s suffering from a muscular problem that he picked up with the national team. He was going to play yesterday but then felt a twinge, so we decided against it.

“As far as a renewal goes, he still has two years left on his contract, it is not a reason for concern, like Daniele [Prade] said yesterday.

“We need to focus on getting him to play football and not on a renewal.”
