Cagliari starlet Nicolo Barella has promised ‘to give my best and be useful’ to the Italy squad after receiving his first-ever call-up.
Barella was included in Italy’s squad for their Nations League matches against Poland and Portugal on Saturday, barely 24 hours before the midfielder helped Cagliari come away with a 1-0 win at Atalanta.
“I’m very happy, but I have to thank my teammates: if we won in Bergamo it’s because they had a great game from the first to last minute,” he said after the match.
