Barella not agreeing with Inter, Atletico and PSG interested

Inter and Nicolò Barella are far from reaching an agreement over a renewal and Paris Saint-Germain and Atletico Madrid are now monitoring his situation at San Siro.

The Nerazzurri are hoping to tie the 24-year-old midfielder down to a new long-term deal at the Giuseppe Meazza.

Barella has been nominated for the Ballon d’Or 2021, as he continues to impress with Inter and Italy.

The Azzurri star signed a four-year deal with Inter when his move from Cagliari was made permanent in September 2020.

Inter are trying to fend off possible suitors by renewing his contract early, but the first talks have only established the big gap between the offer and the demand.

Il Corriere dello Sport reports the player’s agent Alessandro Beltrami has asked for more than €6m a season, as a reward for the Sardinian’s contribution so far.

Inter are currently not willing to arrive at those heights, as the newspaper claims the Nerazzurri are offering between €4m and €4.5m.

The parties are not in a hurry, given the fact that Barella has almost three years left on his contract, but the report highlights the interest from Atletico Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain.

Barella helped Inter to the Europa League Final in his first season with the club and then won the Scudetto in the second term.

He has played 96 competitive games since joining the Beneamata, contributing eight goals and 26 assists in the process.
