Inter midfielder Nicolò Barella highlights the difference between Simone Inzaghi and Antonio Conte and warns Italy’s opponents ahead of the World Cup play-offs in March.

During his first two years at San Siro, Barella worked under Conte, winning one Serie A title and reaching the Europa League Final in 2020.

The Italian coach left Inter by mutual agreement in the summer, only a few months before his appointment as Tottenham coach.

Inter replaced him with Simone Inzaghi. The former Lazio coach signed a two-year deal with the Nerazzurri and has qualified for the Champions League Round of 16 for the first time in ten years.

Inter sit second in the Serie A table, one point off table leaders Milan.

“What we experienced last season gives us self-confidence. We have the Scudetto on our chest and we’ve learned from our mistakes,” Barella told Sky Sport Italia as quoted by FcInternews.it.

“Then the coach [Inzaghi] gives us more serenity and probably that’s what we needed after two intense and difficult seasons that gave us many satisfactions.”

Barella played a key role in Italy’s victory at the Euros last summer and has warned the Azzurri’s opponents in the World Cup play-offs in March.

Italy failed to win their group, so they must qualify for Qatar 2022 going through the play-offs.

They will face North Macedonia in the semi-finals and could meet Turkey or Cristiano Ronaldo’s Portugal in the Final.

“We are European champions, so the other teams should be worried as well,” Barella said.

“Sometimes the ball just doesn’t want to go in, we’ll have to go through the play-offs, but I am sure that we will make it.

Barella blames himself and Militao for red card against Real Madrid

In another interview with SportMediaset, Barella apologised for the red card he had received against Real Madrid on Wednesday and said he hopes he won’t receive a two-match ban.

  1. You want to win against teams that want to rip you apart?
    Okay then…
The way to win that is Mentality and Discipline (like conte and allegri-the italian james bond):
    1) no baking pizzas after scoring a goal (like what pessina did)
    2) no campfire music (like what insigne did, as this is not a party but a battle)
    3) take a penalty like a man and not a troubled duckling
    4) no fortune cookies send to teammates (like what Sirigu did)
5)… in other words don’t take advantage of the coach’s good nature

BTW I have a fortune cookie for Sirigu- ah Sirigu, my non homie… please leave the medieval flag of Genoa (that looks like the flag of England) at home the next time, you could have caused a serious crisis in the final in London when you pulled that out of your pocket. Folks were very offended by that, I happen to have a lot of British friends and ppl did not appreciate that -you making a political statement in a soccer final.

  2. oh and BTW Sirigu I would have banned you from the team, (you just scoffed at Cuadrado too for that goal of the year corner kick goal-you have an attitude problem) but Mancini is too nice and that is why we risk not being in the WC, he will need to be more like a Conte Allegri to get thru the playoffs.

  3. Solo Inter, El Cid, Lord Allegri, all other troll handles…

Not everything is about England, you know. The flag Sirigu pulled out at the FT whistle, and was later joined by his fellow Islander, Nicolo Barella, was the Flag of Sardinia (Sardegna). NOT THE ST GEORGE CROSS!

The 2 of them were repping their island. NOTHING to do with England in the least.

The Flag of Four Moors has is origins in a battle where Aragon (Spain) defeated the Moors.

  4. Troll:

Learn the flags of Italian Regions before you speak your usual shit.

Limey twat, you probably don’t even know how to pronounce your own last name, Just because your whore mother took dick from an Italian guy doesn’t make you Italian 🙂

Don’t worry, you English already caused a “serious crisis” by yourselves. No need to task Sirigu to task for waving the the flag of his land. Again, the world doesn’t revolve around your England.

    W ITALIA, bitch.

  5. Corgi Queen the game is up everybody on the Juventus board as well as the Inter fan page has discovered that you are a troll going by both dboy and TQHC. Forza Juve is not calling you a plastic fan and rightfully so. Going from a Juventus supporter to an Inter one will bring you no credibility from either side. The straw that broke the camel’s back. I suggest you go back across the pond and support Atalanta United or the local womens soccer team in Athens Georgia. After all that is where you stated that you are from. On your trip back please check out IFTV and allow proper Italians to help educate you on the beautiful game, and I do not mean NFL. Also you know you’re a broken man when having to resort to racism (Mustafa Ali), profanity and other expletives. I just hope that one day you can find peace with yourself for now calling yourself a Solo Inter convert.

  6. I do apologise people for my son talking gibberish. That is the only language he is fluent in. I cannot believe he made the switch to Inter. I thought about not giving him dessert for one month but he wet himself when he heard about it. I am very glad he made the switch as I won’t have to wash so many pairs of underwear.

  7. Moronic Inter fan makes a dozen accounts just to troll people. Pathetic life.

    Get a job, limey cunt.

But do tell us more how Sirigu took out the Flag of England, LMAO.

Almost as funny as “it’s coming home”.

  8. El Cid, Lord Allegri, Solo Inter, Jarod KNowles with an absolute gem 😀 😀

  9. I just want to apologise to everyone who I have replied to with negative comments. I knew I would take heat on the Juventus board as now G is calling me a snake for converting to Inter. Look I had a good run. I first supported Juventus in 2004 when Capello was winning. I took a sabbatical when they were correctly relegated and then made the free transfer to Inter. For five years I bled Inter but then crossed the divide to piggy back of Milan (2011). Seeing the rebirth of Juventus, I was loyal for 9 years. I cannot take the old school Allegri ways. Praying just to beat weak teams is too much for me and my rectum. That is why I am going back to Inter. G is right I am a snake but I am from USA, and support about 20 different sporting teams. Last but not least I am sorry Mustafa Ali for the brown limey comment. Look not all Italians are racist. But you do have to understand, some are very insular and have never seen foreigners. We never colonised any countries and had to run with our tails between the leg from Somalia during WW2. It took me a long time to get used to and accept Balotelli in an Italian shirt. On the plus side I am learning how to be potty trained.

  10. I have now discovered that Genoa was founded as a cricket club to represent England abroad. The same with regards to Milan who were also founded by English expatriates. I never knew that Juventus stole the colours of Notts County and should actually wear pink at all times. No surprise as my ex team have always stoled and cheated. Forgive me as I am American. I thought that Hong Kong was in Africa and Canada was Australia. Oops. 👨‍🍼 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿. 🇬🇧
