Livorno’s on-loan goalkeeper Francesco Bardi has welcomed the praise of new Inter chief Erick Thohir.

The Indonesian businessman has bought 70 per cent of the club from Massimo Moratti and last week admitted he’d like to see Bardi return to his parent side in the future.

“Well, obviously, I’m happy with what he said,” the Italian Under-21 international told TMW after the game against Juventus.

Bardi is seen as a star of the future, but he was unable to keep out the Old Lady on Sunday during the 2-0 home defeat.

“It was a game with two faces,” he explained. “We played an excellent first period where we remained compact, while after the break you saw the value of the two sides.

“They hit us as soon as they found a gap…

“Now we have to start again from the opening 45 minutes. We know that we are fighting for survival, but we also know we have an important team.”

Livorno are 16th in the table and just two points above the drop zone after winning just one of their last 10.
