Milan have confirmed they will face Real Madrid in a friendly encounter in August, but there are more must-watch friendlies involving Serie A clubs this summer.

The Rossoneri will meet Real Madrid on August 8 in Klagenfurt, Austria, at 18.30 pm local time.

Carlo Ancelotti will face his former club for the fifth time since he left the San Siro in 2009.

The Italian tactician met Milan 15 times as a coach, but only four after he left, drawing two games, winning and losing once while in charge of Napoli.

August 8 is the same date as Barcelona v Juventus in the Gamper Trophy at the Nou Camp.

It kicks off at 21.30 local time and it remains to be seen if Cristiano Ronaldo and Leo Messi will meet on the pitch after Juventus’ 3-0 trashing of the Catalans in their Champions League group stage clash this past December.

Luciano Spalletti’s Napoli meet Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena on July 31 at 18.30 Italy time, while José Mourinho’s Roma face Porto on July 28 at 21.00 (20.00 in the UK).

Inter were supposed to face La Liga champions Atletico Madrid on August 8 in Tel Aviv, but the game has been cancelled.

The same happened with the Florida Cup tie between the Nerazzurri and Arsenal, which was supposed to be played this coming Sunday. The Serie A champions didn’t take off after the Gunners had withdrawn from the competition due to a COVID outbreak in their team.

Other interesting friendlies involving Serie A clubs are: PSG v Genoa on July 24, Borussia Dortmund v Bologna on July 30, West Ham v Atalanta on August 7. Save the dates.
