Barcelona are reportedly close to signing Arsenal defender and Sassuolo target Hector Bellerin after Sergiño Dest’s move to Milan.

The Catalans have loaned the USMNT international to the Rossoneri. Dest is undergoing his medical with the Rossoneri as we write, so the Catalans will likely get Bellerin from Arsenal.

Milan will pay the Dest’s salary in 2022-23 and have an option to make his move permanent for €20m in June 2023.

According to Sky Sport’s transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio, Bellerin is ‘close’ to joining Barcelona, while Gazzetta adds that the Spanish defender is ready to take a pay cut to move to the Nou Camp.

Sassuolo have been in talks with Arsenal over a potential loan move for the former Betis man, but Bellerin’s priority was to join the La Liga giants.

Bellerin had also been linked with Udinese earlier in the summer transfer window as the Bianconere were looking for a replacement for Brandon Soppy who joined Atalanta.

Fabrizio Romano confirms Bellerin has rejected offers from Serie A to join Barcelona.
