Barcelona’s international transfer director Ariedo Braida confirms Rafinha “will probably stay” after his loan at Inter last year.

The Nerazzurri took the Brazilian on loan in January, but couldn’t afford to pay the buyout clause while still meeting their Financial Fair Play obligations.

The new FFP reporting year started on July 1, leading to suggestions they could go back in for the midfielder, but it appears he’ll remain in Catalonia.

“Rafinha will probably stay at Barcelona,” Braida confirmed on Radio Sportiva.

“He’s a lad with great football qualities, he can decide matches with a skilful touch on the ball, and he can do it here or elsewhere.

“Last year he was coming off a serious knee injury and he did really well at Inter, he’s a very interesting player who is happy at Barcelona.”
