Italian media have linked Joao Cancelo with a move to Juventus, but according to transfer expert Matteo Moretto, the Portuguese’s priority is a return to Barcelona.

The Portuguese full-back has returned to Manchester City after a one-year spell in Catalunya, but he has already informed his agent, Jorge Mendes, that he wants to play for the Blaugrana again.

In his transfer column for the Daily Briefing, Moretto wrote that Barcelona ‘will make an effort’ to retain the experienced defender.
Moretto added that Cancelo received offers from Saudi clubs and that some European sides also made inquiries. Nevertheless, Cancelo’s clear priority is a return to Barcelona.
The news may be disappointing for those Juventus fans who wanted to see the Portuguese return to Turin.
La Stampa and other Italian sources have claimed that Bianconeri director Cristiano Giuntoli was in talks with Mendes about Cancelo’s possible return to the Allianz Stadium.
