Barcelona are considering a number of options to replace Xavi and Antonio Conte is on that list, reports from Spain detail.

The former midfielder unexpectedly announced his decision to leave the Catalan giants at the end of this season, forcing the club to find a replacement in the coming months. The future of the Barcelona dugout has already started to dominate the press in Spain, something that’ll continue until the announcement.

Conte has been out of work since his departure from Tottenham at the end of March last year. He was heavily linked with the Napoli job after Rudi Garcia’s dismissal but ultimately chose not to join the defending champions in the middle of the season.

As reported by Spanish outlet Sport, Barcelona have added Conte to their list of possible Xavi replacements, even if the Italian doesn’t particularly fit their usual playing style and philosophy.

Other strong candidates for now are Thiago Motta, although sporting director Deco claimed he doesn’t follow Bologna, Jurgen Klopp after his Liverpool exit and former Germany coach Hansi Flick.
