The Blaugrana and Manchester United are battling it out for the Colombian international, whose price-tag is a minimum of €40m.

Barca have been relatively quiet on the situation, but today director Zubizarreta was asked specifically about Cuadrado during the presentation of ex-Arsenal defender Thomas Vermaelen.

“We are very happy with our current squad and must use what we have, but if we can improve the team then we will.

“At this moment I won’t name names, nor will I deny rumours, but I can tell you that anything could happen.”

It’s reported Cuadrado would prefer Barcelona to Manchester United if given a straight choice between the two clubs.

Fiorentina are currently in Spain for a friendly against Malaga, which kicks off tonight at 20.30 UK time (19.30 GMT). British viewers can watch that game on Sky Sports 1.
